Happy Easter!

"Happy Easter!" says Belle Bunneh, as she enjoys pushing the eggs around with her nose.
A flu bug hit our household this Easter weekend, and zapped the energy out of our four year old. Lucky for her, the Easter Bunny waited until she was feeling a little better before he stopped by our place. She threw a sweatshirt over her nightgown, and her rain boots and headed outside.

Thankfully she found all of the eggs before the birds did.

Peeps galore, coloring books, chapstick....and a garden gnome?

Yes, a garden gnome- who she has named Trophy Sillyman. She's placed him near the verbena bonariensis, where he can greet the butterflies, bee's and other beneficial insects that seem to visit this plant often.

Sac Peeps: Will you take this survey?

Sacramento peeps: Interested in starting a vegetable garden at your home? Will you please fill out this short survey being conducted by students at UC Davis, who are assisting Soil Born Farm with marketing research? They are assessing whether there's enough demand to support a non-profit, youth-run raised bed installation and maintenance business here in the Sacramento area. Survey only takes a couple of minutes, and you can enter your email address at the end to be entered in a drawing for a $50 Visa gift card. Thanks in advance!

Okay, we're a bit obsessed with ladybugs...

And by we, I mean her..... but I highly support her new ladybug obsession, and will happily reward good behavior with bags of ladybugs.... It could be worse; she could be asking for candy!
She does not mind them on her hands,
She does not mind them on our land.
She does not mind them crawling up her shirt....
nor does she mind them crawling in her skirt.
She does not mind them in her hair....
If it were up to her, they'd be everywhere!
